主讲人:美国北卡州立大学Yun Jing副教授

主讲人简介

       Yun Jing received a B.S. degree in electronic science and engineering from Nanjing University, China, in 2006 and an M.S. degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2007. He received his Ph.D. degree in architectural acoustics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2009. Prior to joining the North Carolina State University in 2011, he was a research fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He was promoted to tenured Associate Professor in 2017. He specializes in the development of analytic and numerical methods for linear and nonlinear wave propagation in fluids. He is interested in biomedical ultrasound, acoustic metamaterials, architectural acoustics, nonlinear acoustics and noise control. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts. He is a senior member of IEEE and an elected member of technical committee of IEEE Ultrasonics (TPC 3). He is an associate editor of the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. He is the recipient of the 2018 R. Bruce Lindsay Award from the Acoustical Society of America.

讲座摘要

        Acoustic wave propagation: numerical modeling and its control via acoustic metamaterial/metasurface。This talk will be divided into two parts. In the first part, I will talk about our recent work on numerical modeling of acoustic wave propagation (at ultrasound frequency range) in heterogeneous media. Specifically, a mixed-domain method was developed that is capable of modeling linear or nonlinear wave propagation in arbitrarily heterogeneous media in a computationally efficient manner. I will talk about its potential applications in biomedical ultrasoundand other areas. In the second part, I will talk about our recent work on acoustic metamaterials and metasurfaces. This part will include our work on acoustic hyperbolic metamaterials, acoustic complementary metamaterials, and acoustic metasurfaces for asymmetrical sound transmission.
